Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
At Astraline, your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you interact with our website.
1. Data we collect
- Email addresses: collected only when you subscribe to our mailing list: on this site, or by leaving your address with us elsewhere, such as a signup sheet at a show. Either way you are on the list only once you click the link in the email we send you, and for an address you gave us elsewhere we keep a note of where, such as the show.
- Enquiries: when you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, email address, what the enquiry is about, your message, and the date and city if you are asking about a booking.
- Visits: we count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves on our own server; see Analytics below.
2. How we use your data
- To send newsletters and updates if you’ve subscribed. If they stop reaching you, because your address no longer works or you marked one of them as spam, we stop sending and keep your address with a note of why for one year, then delete it.
- To read and answer your enquiry. Messages are kept for as long as we may still need them to answer you or to honour an agreement that came out of them, and no longer than two years after our last exchange: they are then deleted automatically, or sooner if you ask us to.
- To see, in totals, which pages, shows and releases interest visitors, so we know what to improve.
- We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties.
3. Analytics
We count visits with Umami, open-source software that runs on our own server, so the data never
goes to another company. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your
device. For each page you open it records the page (without anything after
a ? in its address), the site you came from, your browser, operating
system, type of device, screen size, language, and your approximate location
(country, region and city), worked out from your IP address. Your IP address
itself is not stored. To tell visits apart, it combines your IP address and
browser into a code that changes every day and cannot be turned back into either.
We also count a few clicks: ticket and streaming links, newsletter signups,
contact messages sent (only which kind of enquiry, never what you wrote), press
kit downloads and video plays. We only look at totals. If your browser sends
a Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted.
4. Cookies
This site sets no cookies to measure or advertise, so it does not ask for your consent. It can set two cookies, both only after you do something that needs them: when you close the announcement at the top of the page, one that remembers which announcement you closed (nothing else) for up to 60 days; and, for band members previewing unpublished pages, one that lasts an hour. Embedded YouTube videos load only after you click them and use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. The Spotify and Bandcamp players on release pages are loaded from those services only when you choose one; from then on their own privacy policies apply.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your data at any time.
- Withdraw consent for receiving newsletters.
- Ask us to delete an enquiry you sent through the contact form.
To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
6. Data security
We take appropriate measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or misuse.
7. Updates to this policy
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date.
